State Crit
Yesterday was the MO State Crit. I don't know if it was just me, but I was literally cooked at the finish. Not only that, I was flat flat flat flat flat as a freaking pancake and was unable to help my team at all.
My cool-down lap consisted of rolling to the end of the straightaway for the start/finish, turning onto the sidewalk, and rolling to the nearest bench where I promptly laid down on the ground and started pouring water over my head. Laid there for 15 minutes until I felt okay to get up. Drank 4 water bottles, two frozen drinks (non-alcoholic) from Cafe via Roma on the race course (yum!), and another water bottle on the way home.
Apparently I was not the only one who was cooked, so there's some consolation there. But not much. I was under no delusion that I would win, but hoped I could contribute more than I did.
Next task...work towards Gateway Cup.

Chris - you're too modest. You covered an early break attempt that stayed off for several laps. One good cover was about the most any of us could do.
